Embarking on an adrenaline-fueled adventure, today you’ll rev up an ATV and traverse the rugged terrain of Heimaey. Riding along the dusty trails and rocky paths, the thrill of exploration merged with the awe-inspiring backdrop of volcanic landscapes will create an unforgettable journey through Iceland’s fiery heart.
During the trip, you’ll travel to Prestvik beach where fishing ship Pelagus was stranded. You’ll also drive around and view the scene where Guðlaugur Friðþórsson came to land after 5-6 km of swimming in the dark and cold sea after Hellisey VE 503 sank. You’ll then drive around the lava and into the middle of the volcano Eldfell and along the coast, where the view is breathtaking.
This trip is recommended for the family who will enjoy driving around historical sites of Vestmannaeyjar on fun ATVs. The ATVs are automatic and easy to drive so no specific experience is needed. All ATVs are 2 person where the driver needs to have a driving license. Passengers need to be 6 years or older.
This is a guided trip where each person will be provided waterproof jacket and pants, Gloves and helmet installed with a communication gadget to listen to tour guide stories when you stop at special historical locations.
Please note: This tour is sold per ATV seating up to two guests. Only one ticket is required to be purchased. At least one person in your party of two must be willing to drive the ATV. Minimum age to drive is 18 years, guests must bring with them a valid driving license (photo license). Minimum age for none drivers is 10 years. Guests who are pregnant or have a back or neck condition are not permitted to participate.
