Monte Argentario, in the south of Tuscany, is the gateway to the Tuscan archipelago, with some close-by islands such as Giglio and Giannutri, both part of the Tuscan Natural Park. Today's tour consists in a 3-hr panoramic drive of the Argentario promontory and Orbetello, a pretty village in the middle of the Salt Lake, where a stop will be made. Walk through the streets of Orbetello and listen to your guide’s lecture while admiring monuments and natural beauties. After the guided tour you will enjoy time at leisure in the salt-lake town to shop or indulge in a local delicacy, gelato maybe?
Later, your coach will climb a winding road to the Passionist Monastery so you can admire the stunning view of the Orbetello lagoon and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Admire an enormous stretch of coast from the Giannella strip of land to the Orbetello lagoon, a natural salt-water lake which in wildlife. Drive through the Mediterranean woods shining in the sun! Listen to your guide’s lecture on watch towers and Spanish forts. The peninsula is scattered with fortifications: they were built during the Spanish domination and still characterize the unique landscape of the promontory.
