"The Cultural Landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana located on a sheer-sided mountain range parallel to the north-western coast of the island of Mallorca. Millennia of agriculture in an environment with scarce resources has transformed the terrain and displays an articulated network of devices for the management of water revolving around farming units of feudal origins."
Listen and watch closely as Mallorca's creative legacy, wine-making traditions and culinary prowess meld together in perfect harmony on this tour that includes a live piano concert.
Begin with a scenic coach ride through the Mallorcan countryside to Valldemossa -- a rural village nestled in the forested Cultural Landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana.
Explore the town's narrow streets, stone houses and gift shops before entering La Cartuja. This stately palace once served as a 13th-century Carthusian monastery and, later, a royal residence. It was also the winter home of Polish composer Frederic Chopin and writer George Sand. See the old pharmacy, the library filled with manuscripts, and a collection of antique furniture, including the piano used by Chopin to compose some of his masterpieces. Enjoy a ten-minute piano concert performed by a local musician.
Son Marroig is the ancient residence of Archduke Luis Salvador of Austria. From here, you'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the northern coast of the island.
The pretty Café Miró is the venue for a delicious lunch and a view of Deia village.
Please note: Tour requires about 2.25 hours of walking. Terrain includes flat and uneven surfaces and cobblestones. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
