Go beyond the ordinary with this enthralling excursion around the island of Grenada, led by a knowledgeable guide. Along the way, see a kaleidoscope of breathtaking sites and landscapes, providing you with a captivating journey through the diverse and enchanting beauty of the Spice Isle.
Start your scenic island tour through Grenada’s quaint capital city of St. George's, driving past the Government House, through St. Paul's and past the parish of St. David's, where plantations of cocoa and spices abound.
Next you’ll visit the Laura Herb and Spice Garden, a fragrant 6.5 acre sanctuary where you can immerse yourself in the island’s rich agricultural heritage by exploring aromatic herbs, spices, and tropical plants. Treat your taste buds to a range of herbs and spices while learning about spices, their uses, what they look like in their natural state, and about old remedies. Complete your visit by heading to the gift shop, where you can purchase herbs and spices to take home and use in your own cooking.
Continue up the eastern side of the island, where you'll pass by charming seaside villages including Soubise, where the gentle waves of the Caribbean Sea caress the shoreline and locally built, brightly-painted fishing boats bob in the harbor. This is a peek into the tranquil and idyllic essence of the island’s laid-back charm.
Turn inland to ascend the central peaks, arriving at the National Park Nature Center and Grand Etang – resting at 1,900 feet above sea level and nestled in the crater of an extinct volcano. Here you can take in the serene waters mirroring the verdant surroundings, offering a tranquil escape. The breezes up here are heavenly.
On the descent, you'll pass through magnificent hanging carpets of green mountain fern and the quaint village of Vendome.
See the villages of Snug Corner and Beaulieu en route back to the ship, admiring the tropical flowers lining the street as you pass.
