Welcome to St George's, where captivating scenes await around every corner. The colonial architecture, historic sites, and vibrant culture weave a narrative of the city's rich cultural heritage. Today, you will take a two-hour guided panoramic drive to discover Grenada.
Follow the Old Fort Road and head up to Morne Jaloux Ridge. It's hard to miss Fort Frederick en route -- this well-preserved bastion of the Caribbean sits on rolling mountain ridges and played a significant role in the French and British tussle for control of the island.
Continue over Morne Jaloux Ridge, through Woburn and the Grand Anse Valley to True Blue. This is where St George's University is located. This distinguished institution attracts students from all over the world -- an opportunity to learn in a tropical setting.
Next up is Point Salines International Airport, built in 1979 by the Cubans but completed in 1984 by the British and Americans -- a truly multinational project. Here, you'll pause for refreshments.
Your drive continues through Morne Rouge to Grand Anse. Stop at Quarantine Point for photos. This lovely grassy area at the end of the peninsula provides beautiful views over the water and is the perfect place to take photos.
Then, head back to the port via the picturesque Carenage Harbor area.
Please note: Very little walking is required. Tour consists mainly of sightseeing from the transportation. Stops are brief, and participants can remain in the vehicle.
