Transfer by basic bus to Saguenay National Park. With more than 70 miles of hiking trails, this is a great area to discover this magnificent landscape on foot.
From the pier in La Baie, drive to Parc National du Saguenay, where you will begin your 1.5-mile hike along the Point de Vue du Soupir trail. Experience firsthand the disproportionate scale of time and space in a land where nature has used its colossal forces to carve out a fjord. The two-hour round-trip hike ends at the halfway point, where you will have remarkable views of the fjord and surrounding mountains, rivers and valleys.
Return to the Visitor Center, where you can shop in the gift boutique after your hike.
Please note: Transportation to the park is by school bus and is shared between all park activities. The hike will take approximately one hour each way (two hours round trip), has an elevation gain of 450 feet, and is recommended for intermediate-level hikers. There is a 450-foot climb in elevation on the 1.5-mile hike, including approximately 500 steps to climb up and down. You will not hike to the statue of Our Lady of Saguenay; this tour turns at the halfway point. Dress warmly in layered clothing with gloves, a scarf, and a hat; outer layer should be windproof and waterproof. Bring a backpack to stow any layers you shed.
