Calling all sun-worshippers and beach-lovers! The north coast of Dar es Salaam is blessed with endless stretches of unspoiled sandy beach and this tour is designed for those seeking a day of relaxation and beach fun.
Board your coach and travel north to the White Sands Hotel & Beach Resort, located just 15 miles from Dar's city center.
Your host directs you to the hotel's swimming pool and idyllic stretch of private beach. Loungers and umbrellas are provided with availability on a first-come, first-served basis. Find your perfect spot on the sand or near the pool and spend the day relaxing under the African sun. You may wish to snorkel in the turquoise waters or participate in water sports (scuba diving, windsurfing, laser-sailing, catamaran or kayaking, all at your own expense).
At midday, a buffet lunch is served in the hotel's Mchanga Restaurant, which offers panoramic views of the ocean, with more time at leisure before returning to the ship in the late afternoon.
Please note:
Travel time is approximately 45 minutes each way. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, sunscreen and a hat. Bring bottled water. Do not drink from the faucet. Tour is suitable for guests using a collapsible wheelchair with a companion to assist. Guests must be able to (dis)embark the coach. Guests participating in any water activities do so at their own risk. Snorkel gear is available for rent at the resort or bring your own. The resort features an aquatic amusement park. Do not take photos of police officers or military personnel; ask before taking a photo of a local person. You must obtain a yellow fever certificate prior to travel.
