Bakawari Island sits off the southeastern shores of Bougainville Island. Also known as Pok Pok Island, it's a lovely corner of paradise in remote Papua New Guinea.
Pok Pok is known as a place to get a bit "off the beaten path". It has only a small amount of tourism infrastructure, but very friendly locals and a gorgeous fringing reef off to its east side. A visit here is not only a spectacular cultural experience, but it also offers great options for natural history exploration.
