Day One:
Travel through the Egyptian desert where the dry winds whisper tales of a time when Ramses II strode out in gossamer robes with an entourage of servants caring for his every need. Trace the cryptic hieroglyphics that tell of the journey into the afterlife and walk the shifting sands of dynasties as you travel to Luxor -- one of the richest and most powerful cities of the Ancient World. From the Red Sea Port of Safaga, you’ll take the scenic road across Egypt's eastern desert before turning south to the site of ancient Thebes, capital city of the New Kingdom. Its glory has captured the imaginations of writers throughout the centuries, for it is here that the Pharaohs of the 18th and 19th dynasties, each seeking to surpass the other, created monuments rivaling any before or since.
After arrival, freshen up in your rooms before engaging yourself to one of the memorable journeys of your life. Visit Luxor’s west bank, where lies the Pantheon of Gods and Goddess of Early Egypt. You will start with the Valley of the Kings and explore the interiors of some of the tombs and marvel at their elaborate wall paintings and sheer size. You will have the chance to visit the tomb of King Tut, discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. You would then proceed to visit Seti I Tomb. This tomb is the longest, deepest and also the most beautiful in the Valley of the Kings. The tomb has an impressive 100 meters of fully carved corridors, chambers deep into the mountain and almost 116 meters of a partially excavated tunnel. Its entrance was found under Seti I sarcophagus. After your visit, you will head to one of the local guest houses in Luxor where your lunch will be served and will get to taste the Egyptian cuisine while enjoying local entertainment show.
After lunch, you will proceed to visit the Temple of Hatchepsut, set at the foot of a limestone mountain.
Before heading back to Luxor’s East bank, you will pause to photograph the Colossi of Memnon.
Upon arrival to Luxor’s east bank, you will proceed to your hotel of accommodation where you will freshen up in your rooms before the evening activities.
In the evening, you will proceed to visit Luxor Museum. After the visit, you will board the horse carriages for a short drive to Luxor’s local market.
