Depart from Golfo Aranci's pier by comfortable, air-conditioned motorcoach for a panoramic drive to Cala di Volpe and Porto Cervo. Admire nature's craftsmanship along the way -- landscapes completely unadulterated by human hands. In 1962, a small group of international financiers, headed by Prince Karim Aga Khan, founded the Emerald Coast Consortium. Its territory covers more than 50 miles of coastline, with a vast, well-watered hinterland of rolling granite hills covered in Mediterranean maquis and woods of wild olive trees. Along the coast, a number of resorts have been created and developed and now enjoy international renown.
Porto Cervo, which you'll visit today, was built from the ground up and has become the heart of the Emerald Coast. In the city center, enjoy a walk along the famous promenade and some free time in the shopping district frequented by rock stars, movie stars, and you. Extending from the small square to the Sottopiazza, narrow streets sport houses and balconies built in the typical style of the Emerald Coast.
Baja Sardinia, located on a large bay that boasts crystal-clear water and a fine sandy beach, sits just a stone's throw from Porto Cervo. This popular spot faces panoramic vistas of the island of Caprera and the Maddalena Archipelago. You'll have time here to explore at your leisure before reboarding the coach and heading back to the ship.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Traffic can be unpredictable; your patience is greatly appreciated if a delay extends the tour duration.
