Depart the pier for a scenic drive through the capital city of Roseau, with brief stops at Morne Bruce and the Botanic Gardens. Continue through the Roseau Valley with its lush vegetation and pumice cliffs to the popular Trafalgar Falls to admire not one but two marvelous waterfalls affectionately known as "Mother Falls" and "Father Falls." A 10- to 15-minute hike through the rainforest will take you to the viewing platform to admire these national treasures.
Your experience continues with a drive to the "wellness" village of Wotten Waven. Along the way, you will view the stunning and serene landscapes that characterize Dominica as the rugged Nature Isle.
Arrive at a haven in the hills where you will take a short walk down a flight of natural steps to the open-air pools.
You have time for a 30-minute hot mineral bath, with water coming directly from an underground source. This is the most natural and rustic of outdoor settings for the nature-lover in all of us. Enjoy the beauty of your surroundings while you soak in therapeutic sulfur water pools of varying temperatures to relax your muscle and joints while detoxifying and cleansing the body. And, don’t miss a mineral mud scrub that will leave your skin feeling silky smooth.
Lounge in the shade on handmade benches, inhale the fresh mountain breeze, and enjoy a bottle of water before an re-energized you returns to the ship.
Please note: Minimum age is 14 years. You will be required to wash off any sunscreen residue before entering the pools. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, a cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. There are uneven and sometimes rocky paths. Not advisable for guests with mobility limitations. The route is winding. Guests who are prone to motion sickness should consider this before booking and/or take appropriate medication.
