Get acquainted with Portland city's highlights by trolley; then, cruise Casco Bay and see Maine's oldest and most-photographed lighthouse.
Board a trolley and travel along the Eastern Promenade -- an expansive oceanside park peppered with large homes overlooking the water.
Turning westward, you'll discover the vibrant downtown core of Portland and the handsomely restored 19th-century buildings of the Old Port. Colorful cafés, shops, bars and restaurants occupy these buildings.
See the Portland Observatory -- America's last standing maritime signal tower -- and Victoria Mansion. The latter is a landmark example of American residential architecture from 1860.
Watch for the Portland Museum of Art and the Wadsworth-Longfellow House -- once home to four generations of a remarkable family that made significant contributions to the political, literary, and cultural life of New England and the United States.
You will traverse the Western Promenade en route to Long Wharf. Board a boat here for a narrated 60-minute scenic cruise on busy Casco Bay. Among the innermost islands, you'll see lighthouses, forts, lobster boats, seals, and seabirds. Enjoy a close-up view of Maine's oldest and most photographed lighthouse -- the famous Portland Head Light.
Guests who wish to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.
Please note: The trolley and harbor cruise are not wheelchair accessible. The incline of the boat's ramp varies with the tide and can be quite steep.
