You'll set out with your guide to Quiapo Church, best known as the home of the Black Nazarene. This is a miraculous image of Jesus Christ that was brought to the Philippines by the Spaniards during in 1700s. The Black Nazarene has hundreds of thousands of devotees from all over the country and, every Friday, devotees head to Quiapo Church, as since the novena in honor of the Black Nazarene is held during the day.
From there, you'll walk towards the Quiapo Market -- a lively outdoor market that sells everything from fruit and snacks to handicrafts and clothing. You name it; you can buy it here.
The Santa Cruz Baroque church, built in the early 17th century, is located in Plaza Santa Cruz. The main feature of the plaza is the beautiful Carriedo Fountain, named after Don Francisco Carriedo y Peredo, Manila's greatest benefactor.
