Take a shuttle to the center of town. Then, set out on foot with a local guide, passing through the town center featuring interesting architecture and highlighting that Nuuk is a city in transition. Being the capital city and the largest city in Greenland has led to Nuuk being a city of contrasts, blending the old traditions with new modern twists making for a fascinating stroll.
Stop for photos at a viewpoint overlooking the Nuuk Fjord system, the second largest in the world, and the city of Nuuk.
Along the way you’ll pass the old colonial harbor, providing a glimpse into the past. The tour will end at the National Museum with your entrance included to visit on your own. The museum was started in mid-1960s as the first museum in Greenland and houses the largest cultural history collection in the country. Featuring seven permanent exhibitions tracing the history of Greenland over the past 4,500 years from the Arctic Stone Age to the present. Walk on own back to the shuttle stop for your return transfer to the ship.
