Depart the quayside and drive to Kwantu Game Reserve, where a mystical blend of nature and history waits to awaken your mind and soul. This untouched wilderness boasts a past as rich as its abundant wildlife population.
On arrival at the village of Sidbury, located within the reserve, game rangers will collect and transport you to the main reception area. Sidbury was established in 1820 and boasts the second-oldest Anglican Church in South Africa.
You will be greeted at the Day Centre with a refreshing drink as you view some of the animals sipping serenely at the water’s edge. This is a stunning prelude to what they day has in store for you at Kwantu.
Enjoy a three-hour game drive in an open vehicle accompanied by a professional game ranger. Game on the property includes lion, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, hippos, rhinos, elephants and a variety of antelope.
Enjoy a magnificent buffet lunch as you are entertained by a troop of Xhosa dancers and singers.
Depart Kwantu Game Reserve and drive back to Port Elizabeth in the late afternoon.
Please note:
This tour is not suitable for guests using a wheelchair and those with walking difficulties, if they will not be able to climb onto the 4x4 open vehicles. Please be advised that the Kwantu Resort has a strict no alcohol policy; they do not serve any alcohol on the premises.
Comfortable clothing, binoculars and a sun hat are strongly recommended. The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines and certain parts of the game-drive can be bumpy. Not recommended for guests with back & neck problems. For safety reasons, no children under the age of 12 years allowed on this tour. Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones during the game drives. They are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles, as this will disturb the animals. Smoking is not permitted during the game-drives. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
