We are very fortunate to work with Gunnar, captain of Örkin, to offer cultural boat tours around the northern fjords! Örkin is a beautiful, lovingly-restored traditional oak fishing boat, based here in Siglufjörður. After a short safety brief, we'll climb aboard and head out towards the Siglunes peninsula, learning about the fascinating history of the fjord as we do so. Once we reach the peninsula, we'll head just a little further out towards Héðinsfjörður, home to a number of brave individuals whose stories have since passed into legends. Afterwards, we return to Siglufjörður through the fjord, just as the fishing boats of old would have returned home after a hard day at sea.
