Capture all of the charm of the Ligurian coast from a slow vehicle that evokes entirely another era -- a vintage van. From the comfort of your seat, you'll explore the Italian Riviera, from its hills clad in lush green vegetation to its yacht-lined bays.
Portofino's tall colorful houses and semi-circular harbor exist harmoniously with exclusive shops, cafés and Italian villas of this picturesque hamlet.
The Via Aurelia, leading to Santa Margherita, offers panoramic views at every turn. You'll pass the wonderful bay of Paraggi and the medieval Cervara Abbey before visiting Santa Margherita village. Santa Margherita reached its splendor during the Middle Ages as the private estate of a noble Genoese family. A witness to the past remains in its 15th-century castle.
Rapallo, another pearl of the Tigullio Gulf, was founded during the Roman era. Several monuments relating back to medieval times remain here and its many boutiques and shops specialize in local handicrafts such as handmade lace and slate items.
Continue to Camogli, passing by the road along the panoramic hill of San Rocco. This age-old fishing village is one of the prettiest hamlets of the Ligurian Riviera. From its origins on a small sandy beach, Camogli built one of the world's greatest merchant fleets and the town knew great prosperity in its medieval heyday.
Your drive ends back at the pier in Portofino.
