Using the Canakkale Bridge, cross the Dardanelles to the European side and into the Gelibolu Historic National Park. Experience this new structure, which connects Asia and Europe and is one of the longest bridges in the world, without having to wait for ferry times. The 1915 Canakkale Bridge is a remarkable feat of modern engineering, gracefully bridging the Dardanelles Strait. As the world's longest suspension bridge, it exemplifies the harmonious blend of aesthetic elegance and technical prowess.
To honor the 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives at Gelibolu (Gallipoli), the peninsula has been transformed into a memorial site with proud monuments set off by the picturesque Ariburnu Cliffs.
Leaving the Cape Helles sector of Gallipoli, you will drive to a restaurant and enjoy a lunch of traditional Turkish cuisine. Afterwards, visit the Anzac Sector of the peninsula and you will view Brighton Beach, Seddulbahir and the English Memorial. You will also see the Turkish Memorial, the Beach Cemetery on the southern tip of Anzac Cove, Ari Burnu Cemetery, and the Lone Pine Australian Memorial where you will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony. You will pass Johnston's Jolly and the French Memorial en route back to the ship.
