Climb aboard a power catamaran and meet your captain and crew. You'll hear a boat safety briefing, then some background information on the local whale and dolphin species and their specific behaviors. Then, set out to view these animals in their natural habitat.
The boat will take you along the west coast, between two and eight miles offshore, in search of cetaceans. Each time the boat stops, hydrophones are put into the water so you can listen for the clicking of sperm whales, the pinging of pilot whales, the whistling of dolphins and the singing of humpback whales. Most commonly seen animals are sperm, pilot, and false killer whales, as well as spotted and spinner dolphins.
Juice is served on the way back to the port.
Please note: The minimum distance for approaching the marine mammals is 160 feet. There is no in-water activity. This is a calving area and the welfare of the animals is of primary concern. Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed.
