Welcome to Annapolis Valley, home to Nova Scotia's wine country. Join this scenic and tasty tour that involves traveling into the heart of the Annapolis Valley on the shores of the Bay of Fundy. Along the way, you'll enjoy wine tastings at two award-winning wineries.
A guided wine tasting and a locally-inspired lunch at Luckett Vineyards places you among picturesque vineyard landscapes -- a truly enchanting environment for your gastronomic experience. Don't miss views over the shores of the Minas Basin, fed by the Bay of Fundy.
At a second winery, take a vineyard tour and taste two or three cool-climate wines. Aromatic whites, cool-climate reds and a new appellation wine, Tidal Bay, make for some interesting conversation as you walk through the vineyards and relax in the state-of-the-art tasting room.
Rich Acadian history surrounds this landscape, including the dykelands of Grand Pre, holding back some formidable tides -- a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There's much to learn about the settlers' deportation and their Cajun connection. A profound knowledge underpins your guide's enthusiasm for the region. Make sure you ask questions to delve into this community's origins.
Please note: Minimum age is 21 years. You will see evidence of the extreme tide changes but not the famous tidal bore of the Bay of Fundy, which is only visible much further up the bay in St John. Travel time to the Annapolis Valley is 75 minutes each way. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
