The town of Coron retains its old-fashioned provincial charm.
Setting out from Coron port, you'll drive through the town as your guide points out highlights and pass through Barangay Tagumpay on Coron Bay.
In less than an hour, you will reach the famous Maquinit Hot Spring -- one of very few saltwater hot springs in the world. It is believed that the water is heated by a volcano and springs up into the two-tiered circular pool. Its rough walls are built from stacks of rocks, and its floors are strewn with pebbles.
A dip in the hot spring is an invigorating experience, washing away pain and fatigue and leaving you relaxed and calm.
Please note:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk.
