Start your journey at Kailua-Kona Harbor, where you can relax in comfort while seeing Hawaii's greatest attractions - the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Your first stop is the Punalu'u Bake Shop, the southernmost bakery in the United States. Here, you can enjoy the fresh Hawaiian sweetbreads and Portuguese-inspired malasadas. This spot is beloved by both locals and travelers and is the perfect spot to pick up a treat before continuing your adventure (own expense).
Your tour then takes you to the stunning Punalu'u Black Sand Beach. This beach is known for its nesting Hawaiian sea turtles, or honu, and your guide will show you the best places to spot these amazing creatures. As well as enjoying the wildlife, you will also learn more about how many Polynesian explorers first arrived in Hawaii by coming ashore at this beach.
The crown jewel of the Big Island is the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where you will spend over an hour marveling at the two active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa. At 13,667 feet above sea level, Mauna Loa is the world's largest volcano. The visitors' center has interesting and interactive displays, and you can also take a hike through the Thurston Lava Tube,and admire the scenery from the Kilauea Caldera lookouts. Please note: In the event of an active lava flow, or an eruption, access to certain parts of the park may be restricted or closed.
Notes:
This activity involves navigating uneven terrain, so it is important to wear comfortable, flat walking shoes. Boarding the shuttle buses with minimal assistance is required, so please plan accordingly. To protect yourself from the sun, we recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Please note that wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, as animals and their movements are out of our control. Lastly, any items purchased at the bake shop will be at your own expense.

This way, you can spend more time experiencing the wonders of the location, instead of having to worry about where to get food.
