Day 1
After disembarking in Durban, a representative will assist you with your transfer to King Shaka International Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. Once you arrive at the International Airport in Johannesburg, another representative will meet you and take you to the hotel where you will be staying overnight. After checking-in, you will have the rest of the afternoon free to relax. In the early evening, join your fellow travelers for a delightful dinner at the hotel's main restaurant.
Day 2
Start your day by enjoying breakfast at the hotel and completing check-out formalities. A local English-speaking representative will then meet you and transfer you to the International Airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival, you will be taken to The Palm River Hotel where you will spend the next 2 nights. The hotel's scenic location along the Zambezi River, surrounded by indigenous trees, is just 4 kilometers away from Victoria Falls, offering a breathtaking view and the opportunity to hear the thunder and see the spray of the waterfall from your room on a clear day.
In the afternoon, you will transfer to the Zambezi River jetty for a Sundowner cruise. This 2-hour experience includes drinks, snacks, and the opportunity to spot birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and even elephants. After the cruise, you will return to your hotel for a Riverside Dining Experience, where you can enjoy an authentic African-style barbecue with traditional Zimbabwean dishes, salads, and tasty sides.
Day 3
Start your day with a relaxed breakfast before embarking on a guided tour of the falls. Take in the breathtaking views and capture memorable photos. Afterward, you have the option to return to the hotel for free time or explore the local markets. Private transfers are available for those who want to stay in town, or your guide can assist you with the hotel's shared shuttle service."
After meeting your guide, you will be transferred to the Lookout Café at the Falls. If you chose to stay in town until lunch, you can meet the group at the café for a meal. Enjoy lunch at the Lookout Café. In the afternoon you will embark on an Exclusive Black Rhino Conservation Experience, which will include a high tea prior to your black rhino experience and game activity.
Finally, return to the hotel and savor a delicious dinner.
Day 4
Depart on a morning game drive in the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, taking you through grasslands and teak forests, and along the banks of the Masuwe River and Lake Nakavango to give you as many different wildlife sightings as possible including lions, elephants, and rhinos.
Should you wish to have a leisurely morning, you may skip the game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast at the hotel, complete check-out formalities.
Once you're ready, meet a representative in the lobby and embark on your journey to Kasane, Botswana. After clearing customs and immigration, head to Chobe Game Lodge, located in Chobe National Park, renowned for its abundant elephant population.
Chobe Game Lodge is a tranquil and comfortable lodge located in the remote and untouched northern part of The lodge offers air-conditioned and en-suite accommodations with a serene atmosphere. Depending on time of arrival, enjoy afternoon tea followed by your afternoonare conducted in open-sided 4X4 vehicles. After returning to the lodge, there is time to relax and freshen up before dinner, followed by a night cap at the riverside boma
Day 5 & 6
Experience the bliss of spending two unforgettable days at Chobe Game Lodge, where your mornings will begin with an invigorating wake-up call and a delicious cup of coffee or tea before heading out for an exciting game drive. Afterward, return to the lodge for a satisfying breakfast and then have the freedom to enjoy the rest of the morning from the comfort of your suite's private veranda, observing the wildlife or taking advantage of the lodge's facilities.
Lunch is offered in the main dining area and afterwards, you are free to enjoy your afternoon at your leisure until High Tea. After High Tea, there will be a sundowner game activity, followed by some time to freshen up before dinner is served at the lodge.
Day 7
Begin your day with an early wake-up call and enjoy breakfast before embarking on a morning game drive with your guide. After returning, check-out formalities are completed and you transfer to the airport to check-in for your flight to Cape Town via Johannesburg. Once you arrive at Tambo Airport, you will receive assistance with your connecting flight to Cape Town.
Upon reaching Cape Town, you will be greeted by a local representative who will escort you to the harbor, where you will embark on the ship.
Cancellations:
Due to the popularity of this tour and strict booking conditions, this tour has a 90-day cancellation. Any cancellations made within 90 days of arrival into Durban will be charged the full amount of this tour. This will include if a guest cancels their voyage within 90 days of arrival into Durban, guests will be charged the full amount of the tour
Notes:
Bring sturdy non-skid walking shoes. This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Durban or Cape Town. The contents and order of activities in this program are subject to change by the lodge management without prior notice due to the prevailing weather conditions and wildlife movement on the reserve. Early morning game drives in open vehicles can be a little cool -- bring a windbreaker. During the day, temperatures can be extremely hot. The game drive vehicle may not be covered. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Ride will be bumpy. Guests with back or neck conditions are not allowed to participate. Not advisable for guests with mobility limitations. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Participants are not permitted to use cell phones during the game drives or to speak loudly or stand up in the game drive vehicle, as this will disturb the animals. Smoking is not permitted. An escort from the ship's staff may or may not also accompany the group. You must book this overland PRIOR to sailing. Tour operates subject to meeting a minimum number of participants. Airport assistance and transfers, transportation by air-conditioned coach, all entrance fees indicated in the itinerary, an English-speaking guide (unless otherwise noted), water on the vehicle, and meals (as indicated) are also included. Gratuities and personal expenses are not included. Bring your passport with you on tour. South Africa requires two blank passport pages per entry. Kruger is a malaria risk area; see your physician well in advance of travel for appropriate prophylaxis medication. Maximum baggage allowance is one soft-sided bag up to 44 lbs per person. Hotels and Lodges are able to launder clothes but this will be at an additional cost and is not included in the cost of this program.
Important information regarding visa requirements: It is solely each participant's responsibility to obtain any necessary visas, tourist cards and vaccinations to participate in this Overland Adventures. Seabourn will never secure visas for guests and the on-board team will not be able to assist with visas as visas should be obtained prior to boarding the ship. Visas may be required for any/all countries your tour departs from and travels through and for the country where you will re-join the ship. Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of the cruise. Your travel agent can assist you with your visa needs.
