Costiera Amalfitana UNESCO World Heritage Site
"The Amalfi coast is an area of great physical beauty and natural diversity. It has been intensively settled by human communities since the early Middle Ages. There are a number of towns such as Amalfi and Ravello with architectural and artistic works of great significance. The rural areas show the versatility of the inhabitants in adapting their use of the land to the diverse nature of the terrain, which ranges from terraced vineyards and orchards on the lower slopes to wide upland pastures." Seabourn is the official cruise partner of UNESCO World Heritage.
Everything you've heard and seen about the stunning Amalfi Coast is true. A panoramic drive takes you along the rocky seaside cliffs of the Italian Riviera.
In the town of Amalfi, you'll have free time to explore the highlights -- including a 12th-century Capuchin monastery, a marble-and-stone cathedral, and a watchtower built as protection against Saracen pirates.
The famed San Pietro Hotel is located on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea. In this magical setting, enjoy a delicious Southern Italian lunch with wine.
Visit the enchanting village of Positano, where colorful Moorish-style houses cling precariously to the cliffs. Stroll along the narrow lanes lined with art galleries, boutiques and souvenir shops.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Terrain is uneven with cobblestones and steep inclines. If the San Pietro Hotel is not available as a lunch venue, the equally-famous Le Sirenuse will be substituted. Minimum age is 18 years.
