One of Sicily's most charming resorts is located on the northern coast of Sicily, halfway between Palermo and Capo d'Orlando.
Cefalu is best explored on foot, so you'll leave your coach for a guided walking tour through this fine example of a medieval city with narrow streets and elaborate architecture.
At the center of the village is a 12th-century Norman cathedral built during the reign of Roger II. The presbytery is covered with beautiful mosaics on a gilded background, displaying a surprising variety of colors and forming an admirable expression of Byzantine art.
Next, you will enjoy nature's palette of ocean blue and sunshine yellow, enhanced by the hues of honey-colored buildings and a gently weathered patina throughout the town.
Little pieces of Sicily's history will come to life during your free time for shopping in Cefalu. Pick up a souvenir of your visit, or you may wish to enjoy a foamy cappuccino or ice cream in one of the quaint cafés (at your own expense).
