Meet your guide and private vehicle on the pier and set off on a journey along picturesque winding roads, passing typical Greek villages en route to two classical sites of the Peloponnese region.
The first is Epidaurus -- known throughout the Hellenistic world for its unique medical facilities. Dedicated to Aesclepius, the god of healing, the city was filled with curative spas. While many are in ruins, the theatre is still renowned for its near-perfect acoustics and has seen contemporary performances by such artists as the late Maria Callas.
Continue to ancient Mycenae, whose treasures were unearthed in 1874 by Heinrich Schliemann. Once inside the Lions Gate, explore the Royal Palace ruins, the shaft graves and the remains of the city walls.
Enjoy an archaeological briefing at the Treasury of Atreus, also known as the Tomb of Agamemnon, to enhance your appreciation of these sites before you return to Náfplion.
