Depart the pier on the way to the Statue of Christ-king at Garajau, located on a viewpoint with a magnificent view. After some time to explore, proceed to Santa Cruz for a Portela Viewpoint. The Portela viewpoint offers one of the most beautiful landscapes of the island, where you can have a bird’s eye view of the city and places such as Porto Da Cruz, Penha D'águia, and part of Santana. Afterwards, continue to Machico Viewpoint where you will have great views over the Machico Valley and Ponta de São Lourenço.
Proceed then to Porto da Cruz, anyone visiting the historic Companhia Dos Engenhos Do Norte in this village gets to experience one of the main pieces of living evidence of the island’s glorious sugar production, at the beginning of the 20th Century. A museum dedicated exclusively to the production of sugarcane/rum brandy according to the original processes, highlighting among these the Brandy "Branca" and Aged Brandy 970 Reserve. Next to it, the Casa de Rum is where guests can taste several rums. We then continue to Faial viewpoint, built in the 18th century to watch for invaders, the Faial Fortlet operates today as a viewpoint and is considered a monument of local value. Next, we have Santana Market, and a visit to Santana's famous houses. The Center for Traditional Santana Houses presents some of the typical houses of Santana, where you can get regional products. Close to the Santana Municipal Council, you can find the center for Traditional Santana Houses. This is a preservation area, expanded by the Municipality of Santana, in memory of local Heritage. Your next stop is Achado do Teixeira and São Jorge, in São Jorge, where one can visit the cabanas Belvedere, a viewpoint that provides a great view of the arch of São Jorge, and on days without clouds, one can see the island of Porto Santo. Proceed then to your next stop at São Vicente to visit the Caves of Volcanism, formed 890 thousand years ago; these are among the first caves of volcanic origin to be opened to the Public in Portugal. The final stop is Serra De Agua, where you can taste the traditional Poncha.
