Visit Mon Repos Palace, built in 1828 as a summer residence for the second British High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands, Sir Frederic Adam. The second son of King George I, George II, was born here in 1869, and the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, was born and baptized here in 1921. The Greek Royal family spent their summer holidays at Mon Repo, hosting illustrious guests such as Tito of Yugoslavia, Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, and Nasser of Egypt.
Continue to Corfu Old Town and leave your coach at Esplanade Square, considered to be Greece's largest and most beautiful square.
Enjoy a guided walking tour through the narrow streets of the old district of Corfu, along the narrow cobblestone streets known as the Kantounia. Step back in time and stroll through the arcades of Liston Piazza, once the Palace stables. Catch a glimpse of the 300-year-old church of Saint Spyridon, boasting a priceless collection of icons of the island's patron saint. Then, enjoy some free time to browse in the shops before returning to the port.
