Set out with a small group (maximum 15 privileged guests) for Bodegas Francisco Gomez -- a must-stop on the Alicante Wine Route.
Your expert host introduces the company and explains how it applies organic and biodynamic farming methods in every process. Next, you will see how wine is made, from vineyard to bottle.
Step inside the chapel to learn about their origins and the history of the winery. Visit the gardens and vineyards, access the winemaking rooms where they macerate and ferment the wines, and the bottling area. Move to the underground cellars to see the barrels and the "sleepers" room.
Finally, visit the on-site Oil Museum to learn how extra virgin oil was made by hand -- the machinery here is centuries old. Most of all, it is refreshing and pleasing to witness the passion and enthusiasm of the people who work here -- it is quite inspiring.
In the tasting room and shop, you will taste young wine, oaked wine, high-end aged wine, sweet wine, extra virgin oils, and a selection of Iberian sausages made from pork organically raised on site.
Please note: Bring local currency or credit cards if you wish to purchase local products. Minimum age to drink alcohol is 18 years with a companion aged 21 years or older.
