On today’s unforgettable excursion, you’ll tour Îles des Saintes, a pristine archipelago where the charm of French-Caribbean culture meets unspoiled natural beauty.
Start your adventure by boarding the ship's tender for a quick ride to the small port of Terre-de-Haut.
You’ll be greeted by a knowledgeable and friendly guide who takes you on a short drive to Fort Napoleon. Sitting atop a hill offering panoramic views of azure waters, you’ll discover an important piece of this island's history in a fort that was originally built for defense against British invasion but in the end was never used for that purpose. Instead, it served as a penitentiary. Today it also serves as a cultural hub with its botanical gardens and museum, making it a captivating destination for a variety of reasons. Take an hour to wander the grounds and take in the sights.
Next you’ll journey on to see the charming village with the multicolored houses. You'll also see the fishing port, where much of the local economy flourishes and the cemetery composed by graves surrounded by shells. Throughout the tour, you may have the chance to see the island’s iguanas, coral-rich waters and palm-lined beaches, too.
Please note: Bring sunscreen and a hat.
