On a panoramic drive to Balata, you'll encounter a tropical paradise with lush botanic gardens, suspended treetop walkways, and vibrant flora. Explore Balata Garden, opened to the public by the owner, M Jean Philippe Thoze, after he spent 20 years collecting flowers and plants. Walk under the trees, see the multitude of botanical plants, and admire harmoniously-placed flowers.
While here, you'll see a replica of the Montmartre Basilica in Paris, with a spectacular view of Fort de France and the bay.
Crossing La Trace Road, stop in charming Morne Rouge village to enjoy an authentic Creole lunch. Admire the Caribbean Sea and the tranquil escape of lush hills in a laid-back atmosphere.
Visit the Depaz Distillery to learn about the process of rum production. Like wines and spirits, the rums of Martinique are produced under a "controlled designation of origin" -- an appellation unique to this island. Before returning to the ship, don't miss sampling this exceptional product.
