Set out on a scenic coastal cruise by RIB (rigid inflatable boat) on your way to a famous reef-snorkel location, with a PADI-certified guide on hand to explain everything.
Perched on the edge of a submerged volcano, Champagne Reef is Dominica's number-one snorkeling hotspot and ranks among the top five snorkel spots in the Caribbean. More than just a coral reef, this one takes its name from the underwater geothermal springs that vent gasses in the form of thousands of warm bubbles. It makes you feel as if you're swimming through a giant glass of sparkling wine. The reef is quite spectacular -- expect to see a myriad of sea life, including sponges, lobster, parrotfish and perhaps even a resident population of hawksbill turtles.
Next, head to the southern tip of the island for some time to swim in the warm Caribbean waters. A thrilling high-speed RIB ride returns you to the shore, passing the stunning scenery of Dominica's coastline.
Please note: Minimum age is 12 years. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, light clothing to act as a full cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. Swim at your own risk. Guests with a heart condition, epilepsy, diabetes or asthma are not allowed to participate in snorkeling. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed.
