Board a four-wheel-drive vehicle at the pier and set out to explore the eastern and southern parts of Bonaire. Part of the trip will take place on paved roads; the remainder is on dirt roads, which can be dusty, muddy, and bumpy.・@
You'll leave Kralendijk, Bonaire's capital, and travel through town heading east. Many dirt roads later, you'll be heading along the wild east coast to explore the Outback with its colossal cactus, wild donkeys, iguanas, and birds. Along the way, you'll stop to take photos and hear information.・@
Arriving at Lac Bay, watch the windsurfers brave the trade winds in the warm, shallow waters.・@・@
You'll pass the Willemstoren Lighthouse, Bonaire's oldest lighthouse and see the stone huts that slaves rested in after working the saltpans. Perhaps spot a few flamingos in the distance as your guide explains the ins and outs of salt production.・@
