This outing is a close encounter with the Laurentians -- the chain of mountains flanking the north bank of the St Lawrence River. The beauty of La Mauricie National Park is best discovered on a hike in the great outdoors on the Les Cascades Trail.
Covering an area of 206 square miles, the park boasts an air of total serenity throughout its gently contoured terrain. It occupies a vast plateau studded with rolling hills intersected by valleys and dotted with myriads of lakes. The change of seasons retouches the landscape with subtle strokes, calling visitors with a promise of both activity and relaxation here in the southernmost part of the Canadian Shield.
Walk with your guide as the trail, bordered by conifers, follows a stream through a diversity of landscape, from marshland to an area devastated by a tornado to a mature maple forest. Pretty cascades invite you to pause and enjoy.
Please note: This tour includes approximately two hours of walking over uneven terrain. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes.
