A motorcoach transfer brings you to the Nakano Noodle School. Dig deep to find your noodle-maker within, and join this class to learn how to make authentic Udon noodles, incredibly popular both here in Japan and in the West. You will dine on your culinary masterpiece for lunch.
Next, visit the Kotohira Shrine, located on a mountainside. Kotohira is also called Konpira and is one of the twelve guardian gods of Buddhism. This shrine is dedicated to the gods of the seas, so many sailors and fishermen visit here. Both Shinto and Buddhism influenced the structure of this shrine. This is a great way to round out a culturally aware day in Takamatsu.
Please note:
Guests with a flour allergy (present in Udon noodles) should not participate. Dietary substitutions cannot be made. Terrain includes 300 steps to reach the shrine, inclines, uneven surfaces, and gravel. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. The parking lot of Konpira Shrine can be accessed only by minibus, necessitating a change in transportation before visiting the shrine; the group may be split into two groups with some wait time. Traffic can be unpredictable; your patience is greatly appreciated if a delay extends the tour duration. Weather and atmospheric conditions vary; no guarantee is offered with regard to visibility or views on any particular day. Tour sequence may vary. Bring local currency, as some vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars.
