At Shiraito Falls, pure mountain water cascades down some 65 feet, threading itself through the rocky face behind it like a shoelace made of silk. Allow yourself to be soothed by the calming sights and sounds of this stunning landscape.
A short motorcoach ride brings you to the Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine, located in the southwestern foothills of Mt Fuji. Originally built to protect against volcanic eruptions, the shrine was one of the grandest in its heyday -- clear back in the early 1600s. However, several earthquakes damaged its structure, and today, only the inner and outer shrines and the tower gate remain. Climbers often stop here to rest and pray before ascending the mountain.
After a day filled with quintessential images of Japan, relax on the ride back to the port.
Please note:
Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. Tour requires strenuous walking. Terrain includes inclines, uneven surfaces, roots, rocks, and steps. There are approximately 100 steps from the parking lot to the base of Shiraito Falls. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Traffic can be unpredictable; your patience is greatly appreciated if a delay extends the tour duration. Bring local currency, as some vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Tour sequence may vary.
