Drive through the downtown core of Hakodate and board the aerial ropeway (cable car) up to the summit of Mt Hakodate*. This lovely wooded mountain rises to more than 1,200 feet at the end of the peninsula on which the city sits. Needless to say, it commands a stunning panoramic view over Hakodate. Take a little time for quiet reflection, to walk around, take photos, or learn about the natural surroundings.
Next up is a good-fun hands-on sushi-making experience. First, your tutor-chef will explain the process and demonstrate how to make sushi. Then, make some sushi yourself. Do your best work, as you will devour your creation afterward, and you deserve only the finest sushi!
With new skills in hand, return to the ship.
